News and Reviews
What better way to learn the beautiful language of France
than to immerse yourself in the language itself. This fall, you
can do just that at
Bret’s Table.

John Layer and I will be leading a six-week class for
intermediate students with the desire to continue learning
French in a conversational setting.

Each week, we’ll have a two-hour class, centered on one
course of a typical French meal. We’ll start with aperitifs
the first week, ending with a seasonal dessert the last
week. John will lead the conversation while I'm behind the
cook-top.

John lived with a French family when he was 17 and
learned cooking skills from two generations of
accomplished cooks who had learned techniques both in
Morocco and Brittany. He is a devoted Francophile and
has traveled to France many times, picking up knowledge
about the interrelationship of food and culture with each
trip. He currently teaches French at Edina High school.

I have been teaching at Cooks of Crocus Hill for more than
five years and I'm passionate about French cuisine.
Traveling to France several times, most recently I had the
opportunity to cook at La Pitchoune (the former home of
Julia Child).

Classes will be October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and November 5,
2008 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at
Bret’s Table. The cost
will be $200 for the six classes with a minimum of 6
students but no more than 10 to allow for individualized
attention.

Registration Deadline is Wednesday, September 24,
2008. Due to the small class size, refunds cannot be given
after registration nor for missed classes.

Checks are payable to
Bret’s Table and sent to 3617
38th Avenue South, Minneapolis MN 55406, prior to the
registration deadline. Your spot cannot reserved until
payment is received.
